Christie was raised in the Out-Back of Australia and was inspired by her father who was a farmer but also an amateur artist. Although mainly a self-taught artist, in her adult life she moved to the US and studied for ten months at the Scottsdale Art School, in Arizona. Christie's main subject matter is pet art. The breeds of dogs, cats and horses painted include the following: Bichon, Poodle, Bengal Tiger Cat, German Sheppard, Scottish Terrier, Bulldog, Boxer, French Pug, Pomeranian, Persian Cat, Ronan, Appaloosa and Friesian horses, to name a few.
